Yea I like it too. The Saphire black looks real cool, and I'm glad that you have the rosewood instead of maple board. How do you like the pups in that one? FOr some reason the Silo Special and the Silo look kinda different to me body wise. It is the same shape, but I think the Silo has longer horns or deeper cut or something. I think that's because of the 24 frets.

I tried out a Silo Special in a music store that had a maple fingerboard, and the rosewood definitely felt smoother to me. Plus, the maple had already begun to show dirt from people playing it, and if it was that way now I couldn't imagine what it would look like after ten years or so.

Even though I've only played the guitar a few days, I love the single coils! In particular, the fourth position on the switch (counting from the bridge). I was playing along with Stevie Ray Vaughn's classic "Tin Pan Alley" and I had his bluesy tone nailed pretty spot-on.

The humbucker, well, I guess I'm spoiled by my Les Paul. In another thread someone mentioned that there's nothing like that LP sound. The Silo's 'bucker isn't as powerful, but the versatility, lighter weight, coutoured body, and the amazing neck more than makes up for it.

That looks awesome!

One thing though (and it might just be the exposure from the camera flash) - get some Lemon Oil on that fingerboard!

I'm going to try taking a photo without the flash.

NICE! I can actually picture Luke's EMG pups on it (ALL BLACK) and also black dome knobs. Have you thought about changing the knobs? I personally like the domes better overall how they look and feel. I think it would be an AWESOME addition to the stealth look this one has :).

I actually did "stealth" it up a bit. If you look closely, you'll see I've replaced the chrome stock strap buttons with black Schaller straplocks.

:)

EMG's on a SiLO?
HMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.

Since I got the GrapHearl Silo in I am scared to play either of my other SiLOs cause I know then I will have to go out and buy another set of EMG's.

I like the Black Straplocks.

If you get the piezo option on a SiLO you get the dome knobs. I like the dome knobs.

Do you have a pic of the dome knobs? I can't recall ever seeing them.

Check out
http://www.ernieball.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12749

Also check out page 2 where it's getting the "FLAME" put on the neck.

I use to have pictures of my abalone topped knobs on my abalone pick guard. I had to take them off when the code monkey asked me to delete all my pics in an effort to figure out why I can't post pics any more. I still can't post pics. You know what. I still love my Ernie Ball Music Man guitars and I wouldn't dream of playing anything else. Kissy kissy noise

Ahhh, now I see. My Morse had those type of knobs. I didn't like them because there are no markings. When I set up, I turn the guitar's volume up full, and adjust my amp to the volume that I'll use when playing lead. Then I back off the guitar's volume knob. Without graduations, it's difficult to find that rhythm volume on the fly.
