I'd like to know how the Morse owners in this forum think about their guitar's weight, as far as fixed bridge models are concerned (trems obviously are heavier in general).

Take a look at my different guitars if you like. I have weighed each one including strap, as you have to carry it as well, right?

(Btw: as I'm from Germany, weight is shown in grams. You may have to convert measures in order to compare with your own guitar's weight.)

Hello

Such a nice collection you have !

My Morse is on the heavier side : a bit more than 4 kg (without the strap).

Quick appriximate conversion of the heaviest and lightest…

3.735 kg = 8 lbs 4 oz
3.326 kg = 7 lbs 5 oz

Seems like a normal range to me.
Yes, that's what's normal, but I have to admit that your heaviest would be too much for me to carry. I even sold some for that reason.

I weighed my Morse a few years ago, and it weighed 8.7lbs, which is about 3.95kg.

With the thick uncontoured poplar body, they can get kinda beefy.

Oups, that‘s the weight of MY heaviest and lightest. But to be correct, it‘s g instead of kg.

Anyway, my heaviest is #50, so I won‘t sell it for sure. Just trying to get used to it every single day…

Hello

After watching the Tour de France ... I decided to weigh all my guitars (my 4 EBMM and a few others 😳) with the nice scale my wife uses for preparing cakes ...
And in fact my Morse is lighter than what I thought : "just" 3.825 kg.
My 4 EBMM weigh :
  1. Morse hardtail : 3.825 kg
  2. Albert Lee Trem : 3.470 kg
  3. Axis Super Sport hardtail : 3.345 kg
  4. SUB1 Trem : 3.235 kg
The AL and the SUB1 were weighed with their trem bar.

funny enough: about a week or so ago, I got our daughters kitchen scale to change the battery. Hers goes to 5kg (ours only to 3kg) and I took the chance to weigh all my guitars:

Albert Lee Hardtail: 2.797 kg
reflex Trem: 3.514 kg
Steve Morse Hardtail: 3.545 kg
SUB1 Trem: 3.866 kg

Trems weighed with trem bar.
They are all lighter than I thought!
