You were missed over these past couple of weeks. Hope you had a great trip. And, as always, no pics no Peru. ;)

Bizarely, I had a dream last night that Jack is coming in Sydney sometime this year. That's not the type of dream I felt comfortable telling the missus about at the breakfast table this morning.

oh yeah! Welcome back bovinehost, moooo mooooo to you! :D

Yes it was chaos without him but BP managed to handle crowd control pretty well (he must have been a bouncer in a previous life)

yes jack welcome back.....aaaargh

Is that a pirate noise or are you just glad to see me? :D

Good to be back, as I'm sure I've mentioned. Peru killed my laptop but I'm working on fixing that. I cannot deal with being anchored to this desktop THING that my wife has cluttered with useless crap! Pray for me, babies.

A few random photos because this is OT to begin with:

I think that little net will keep those bricks from falling, don't you? And that's the Pan-American highway, not some little side street. *sigh*

The mototaxi! These are everywhere outside Lima, especially in beach and jungle towns. I saw one coming toward me once and there was something sticking out of it...I said, "What IS that?" No one knew. As it got closer, I realized that it was a fully grown llama with its head sticking out the side.

Here's my old house in Lima. (Okay, not really.)

My old running mate and partner in crime, Bryan, meets up with my wife for the first time in quite a while.

New Year's Eve means funny glasses and bottle rockets.

New Year's Eve also means my wife dresses up just enough to make me feel ratty.

Jeremy and his pal Hugo at the beach in Punta Hermosa, where we stayed for a couple of days.

What's Peru without Peruvian food? My boy is gnawing on 'anticuchos', which are made from beef heart, sliced thin, marinated in some magic stuff then cooked on skewers over an open fire.

(He didn't realize they were heart until the last day.)

Okay, that's enough of that. Back to the fray!

That pretty much sums it up, Jack. :D

Hey - great pics!!! I don't know which one I like more - the one of your wife, or the one of your wife. ;) Actually, it's the brick hauler on the freeway. Perfect.

Thanks for the photos, and again, welcome back.

Hey! I also have 1 of those magical nets.
Whenever i go to a gig, just dump everything in the car, put the net over it and nothing ever falls off! It appearantly works with bricks also. :D

seriously. Nice pics.

Well, you were gone long enough for me to pick up on the fact that it just isn't the same without you, Jack. Your good humored sarcasm and wit contribute greatly to the overall climate around here, and your absence is definitely tangible. Welcome back & glad everyone made it home safe & sound after what looks to have been a fun trip.

I think it's great that your son got/gets to go on trips like that, outta the country. I think everyone should get out of their own country/culture as early and as often as possible. It definitely broadens your horizons. It wasn't until I was 29 that I got my first chance to wander outside the US, and it was a priceless experience/perspective. Wonderful for kids to get to experience that.

See ya 'round.

Welcome back! Cool pics, thanks for sharing. Looks like you had a good time, despite of the brick flinging lorry... ;)

Welcome home Jack! Thanks for the great pics. Maybe they were just trying to hide those bricks. Maybe they were brick smugglers! ;)

Anyway, glad you had a good trip and are back safely.
