Paul seems to be a very accurate octopus :p

Sorry Patrick but if the final is between Netherlands and Germany I will support the Dutch the main reason being I want them to have a nice star on their jersey. You have already 3 :D

I really think they deserve one, but hey let the best team win good luck for the semi final I will support Germany tonight :p

+1 May the best team win! Good luck to all. I'm cheering for Spain but I'm happy if either wins.

Germany exceeded my expectations, they're a counterstrike machine, the way they smoked England and Argentina, is enough to deserve a WC champion.
My bass player is Spanish and we're catching the game today with some Spanish fans, but I'm going for Germany, just because they deserve to win. \ But if Paul is right, man, that's the upset of the tournament  let's see if Paul is going to be a calamari today ;)

our team was playing not as good as they can, sadly they only play on saturday now, maybe they can get the 3rd place this time again.

I guess Paul was right after all, congrats to Spain who were the by far better team today...and that's exactly what I meant by saying you don't know what to expect from our team, today we were way too passive and really didn't deserve it. You have to play with all your heart to win a semi-final and that's what we lacked I guess.

Tactically Spain got it bang on tonight....aftert he England game I couldn't believe Maradona didn't pack his midfield and play Germany at their own game.......

Germany look to have a bright future - but it's great that two countries with such a great football ethos are in the final of the biggest sporting event on the planet......

Sunday should be a classic!

Wow!!! For most of the tournament Germany took it to their opponent. And it worked. Really surprised they changed up that tactic and decided to sit back and tried to be patient with Spain. Didn't even look like the same team out there. Oh well. Congrats to Spain. The final could go either way. I'm gonna take Spain with the slight edge over Holland. Final score 2-1

Spain deserved the win today, although I felt for Germany, they played so well all tournament. It was good sportsmanship too, not one single card, good to see that for a change, all around great soccer match.
The Germans failed in tactics, they were clearly playing back and wait for a counterstrike, instead of attacking. They gave Spain way too many scoring opportunities. What a great game, great WC overall.
Sunday will be a fantastic game.

*Hangs self

Spain deserved it at least, and the victory wasn't based on some stupid calls/non-calls.

I feel for the Germans, being dutch I know the feeling of JUST not making it to the finals very well. Dying in beauty in the semi's after some stunning previous soccer is a too familiar sight.

This year we got lucky but we have a chance if we play the Spanish right. Looking at the match it all seems pretty impressive but they didn't really create a lot of chances. Just playing the ball around on the midfield. Up until the penalty-box and then creativity often just runs out. Like a mosquito buzzing around your head in the dark for hours but not stinging. Form over function football. You could see the germans missed Muller a lot, the guy just brings amazing depth to their game. Ozil was a shadow of what he was the previous matches too. It just seemed the team-battery was a bit low after England and Argentina, and if you hang back against this Spain it's an accident waiting to happen 'cause you just can't pressure the ball forward anymore.

Keeping fingers crossed for sunday, hope we will draw the longest straw. After two lost finals I think we deserve it ;)

Any plans to process octopus Paul to calamares :D?

Well, so Paul war right after all. But that's what you get with such a young team like ours. And, You can not go to world cup's semifinals having no balls at all - You have to be brave enough to try and play yoour game. But that comes with experience, I guess.

And no, no paella with Paul - he is a legitimate professional prophet, who I now demand to be involved in the governmental decision making process as well:). Such talents can not just be wasted for football. Paul for Bundespresident (would deffinitely make a better, and, what's more important, more determined appearance than our new head of state)

Germany played a great tournament. They were great at the counterstrike, but with the Spain they got closed down right away, so that was their problem for getting a goal. they also didn't seem to change their tactics after being down 1 goal, Mueller probably would've made a difference, who knows.
That damn octopus, he was right. are we going to see a EBMM Octopus Flame color?

Netherland vs Germany would have been such an exciting final, like 5+ goals exciting....I knew if Spain was gonna win it would be 1-0, would have been different if they had Mueller. Also have to say Netherland vs Uraguay was the most exciting soccer match I have ever seem

Nooooo! Calamari Paul chose Spain as the winner :(. Then again, he chose the wrong european championship winner in 2008 with Spain vs Germany, hopefully he has a habit of being wrong with the finals ;)
