On the tail end of the bell curve in Connecticut
Gig was last night.

As expected, the crowd was total hip-hop. We were the only anglos in the joint... five middle-aged white folks in a bar full of young Afro-Americans complete with baggies, chains, sideways ball caps... the works. A sign at the door said "NO BANDANAS, NO HOODIES, NO WAVE CAPS." I was thoroughly bemused by the whole thing. Reminded me of this:

Well, not quite... we put on a good performance and had a few people really enjoying it. But the house DJ, who played between sets and after we finished up until closing, played what they were expecting and packed the dance floor.

We didn't drive people away or anything, but I'd be amazed if they ask us back. The mismatch between crowd and band was laughable.
