So I got my Sterling AX40 last week... the one in the limited pink/purple run.

I noticed after playing her for 15 min, the fretboard was already dirty. I took a little steel wool to the dirty spots and she cleaned right up. this happened for the next few days... each time a easy brushing with the steel wool(0000) and all was good.

last night, i decided to take one of my EB MM Fretboard Conditioner Wonder Wipes to her after I cleaned her up. I put it on and then wiped it off and then repeated.

I let her dry overnight and played her for 45 min tonight. No discoloration at all on the fretboard... looks just like when I got her... now i don't have to worry about her getting dirty.

I'm going to see how it goes over the next few days, but I'm stoked about this... she's a beauty!!!

I'm totally blown away by the quality of these guitars... kudos to Sterling for making such a great playing and sounding guitar at this price point.

i'm going to head to my local GC and look at the AX3... I'm not a big Floyd guy but LOVED that guitar. I also really liked the AX3 in trans black... My wife was cool with either one but thought if I could pick up an AX3 it could be the "living room" guitar and it wouldn't be as big of a risk with the Kids (cats)...
