bfr have weathered the bs storm.
Glad to hear it! I hope they're around for a while.
most stores would only let you look at the guitar unless your creit card was taped to your forehead.
Would this work? hmmm.....
OT: I was in GC yesterday and they had a nice Honeyburst ASS hanging on the wall. I played it through a lonestar spec. and it was pure heaven... I think I could come around on the neck...
So when is the BFR ASS coming out?
:D

I think BP really hit the nail on the head there----say what you will about GC(my local one in Allentown happens to be pretty good eventhough they dont have an audition room) but the ability to play good quality guitars is something alot of folks take for granted. I'm 43 and believe me back in the day there was no way you were even gonna touch a new Les Paul in a store (unless like BP said you had your credit card taped to your forehead). If you were a kid forget it---

Someone should invent a "guitar suit" all soft and padded that you put in b4 trying out a new guitar - or maybe a "guitar bib" ;)

Actually, Spud, that's not a bad idea. When autos are delivered here quite a few of the auto manufacturers put a white plastic type film on the cars' front ends, door handles, etc to prevent scratches and especially small stones from being kicked up from other cars and damaging the autos while they are on the transport trucks.

It's too bad the clear film that is placed on the pickguards couldn't be placed on the entire guitar. I think that would at least protect from scuff marks and light scratches.

And of course the pickups and knobs would be exposed so you could still try it out.

yeah and the store and the manufacturer gets the blame....

I think also that when someone usees a frowny face or thumbs down it starts everything
off wrong.

I say that's an official declaration, no frowny or thumbs down, at least in Titles. Is there a way to remove them from Post Icon list?

after scraching my head...

new guy,
A day after, in all honesty, I know my post was a bit furious out of simple jealousy.
I feel for you, but I wish this happened to me ;-)
I bet I would walk out of that store with a first class guitar and a discounted price. yeaheyouuu !
Only this time, I'm not saying you should have done that.

all others,
I'm sure some of you have scratched, dinged or god forbid made a cigarette burn (not much chance with Californians) to some of your axes, I'll gladly take them to my guitar-shelter and promise to keep them free from belt buckles, beer spills, cold trunks, dirty hands, smoky rooms and all other life sustaining environments...yeah, right:cool:
Just start sending them !

Today has never happened before !

Be well...

I go to the luthier show held in Healdsburg CA every two years. Mostly acoustic, custom, high-end stuff. They won't let you touch a guitar if you're wearing a watch or if your belt buckle is exposed (shirt tucked in). When they band your wrist at the entry, they make sure it's not on your picking hand. In other words, they watch their product.

For their better guitars (like EBMM), GC should probably do something similar.

the guy is saying that there was an air bubble under the finish, which I have seen before on guitars, now I would bet it didnt leaave the factory like that but it was there, unfortunately there werent 2 on the wall, I say we burn the guy in flames for dare pointing this out - and then maybe go after his family and def ban him from the forum....Also I agree with BP that GC lets you play the guitars without signing over an organ and theyt do have a 30 day return policy - whats better than that?
