Of course I don't mean that in a smarmy way like Bill Shakespear, but with true conviction: my Albert Lee is such a well thought out, professional axe.
From its silent circuit to its compensated nut this is the most "professional" guitar I've owned. (I've had them all - strats, teles, pauls, prs, g&l, firebirds, jazzmasters [also well designed] others...) I like all the aforementioned guitars, please don't get me wrong, but the Music Man/Ernie Ball AL is the most stage-friendly of them all. The balance is great, it hangs perfecly, the controls are simple and well placed.
Yeah, I love my Albert Lee. I've had it for two years now and I like it more all the time. My next axe is definitely going to be another EB/MM guitar, likely a silhouette.
I do have one nit to pick: I'm not thrilled with the angle the G string makes over the nut. I haven't had a problem, really, but I keep looking at it, thinking I should put a string retainer just for the G string, increasing the angle to that of the D string. Has anyone tried this?
Once again, though; what a piece of work is Music Man!
