i ordered a trans teal stingray and love that color or at least the pictures ive seen of it, i have yet to see it in real life, its odd though it seems to "shift" colors in every picture i see of it. sometimes its a really dark green, sometimes its a very "teal" teal, sometimes its a light blueish green sometimes its a darker greenish blue

so whats the right color here? anyone got a completely accurate picture?

I have a 97 Teal Ray which is decidedly darker than my 00 Teal Sterling. Both have maple boards FWIW.

so you think it varies to each one?

I think they just come out different, that's all. I can't say for sure, but I faintly recall someone saying that the paint, weather conditions, stock market, and GDP all affect the way a finish will turn out.

I have an early 92 teal SR4 that is pretty dark. I don't think it has really changed colors over the years, though.

C'mon guys

Think about it.. it's a TRANSLUCENT teal finish....

The color of the actual slab of wood under that finish is going to have an effect on how light or dark the color turns out. Therefore, I'd think that no two are exactly the same.

Mine tends to change with different lighting conditions (and I dont mean bright light and a dark room) im talking subtle diferences in lighting. The colour always looks good though.

Here's one of the few basses that have made me want to sell mine..

(that's one of Scott's)

I don't think you can go too far wrong with teal.

Mind you, I'm really liking this one...

That sounds nice, I love maple necks on teal. Although, I think the black P.G looks nicer.
