I'm new here and I haven't even picked my SR5 up yet (waiting for taxes):D

Anyway. I was wondering what amp you guys would suggest to really compliment a Stingray5 LTD??? I also have a Spector Euro 4 so, I want that to sound good too. I've looked at alot of amps already but haven't made up my mind.

BTW right now I'm using an Ampeg B2R.

Welcome Phil!

Man, there are sooooo many good choices of ampage out there. Too many to list really. But if I were buying new equipment today? Here's what's at the top of my list:

Amps: Ashdown, Euphonic Audio, Eden, Thunderfunk, Ampeg, etc.
Cabs: Bergantino, Epifani, Aguilar, Schroeder, Accugroove, etc.

Currently, I'm using Hartke and Trace Elliot. They both handle the B string just fine.

Well, ahhh...hmmmm...I like Ampeg. If you have any questions about their gear, I have owned alot of it. Feel free to pm me. GK seems to be a very good rig also.

I should run for office....was that a bass correct answer or what?

Several folks here love the GK 1001RB-II. I have one on the way myself. :D I currently play through a 20-year-old GK 400RB & I really love it. It's just slightly underpowered for me. It'll make a dandy backup amp.

Get yourself a SWR Goliath III. Or a pair of them! Tone heaven.

Maybe an SWR head (one of their pro models) or do like I do and use a power amp with a preamp.

If I had to recommend an amp, id say a GK (700RB or 1001RB) or an Eden. Both sound GREAT with EBMM basses. For cabs, Im in love with my GK Neos.

Thanx for all the quick replies

I really didn't expect to get that warm of a welcome with such a general question.

Well, I'm pretty indecisive lately. I really like the Ampeg SVT CL, but I also like Ashdown and GK. Mesa's got some nice amps and SWR cabs are amazing. ( Ya see what I mean) They're all great in their own right. I just need to narrow it down. I was just looking for some advice.

Thanx for the help

Amongst the clamouring of the overwhelming hoarde of Ampeg (great amps) GK (gret amps) SWR (great amps) ansd even the occasional Aggie (great amps) people .... I'm that small, quiet but persistend voice that whispers in one ear .. "Have you ever heard a Trace Elliot sing ???)

Play through anything you like as long as its covered in green carpet !!!! ..

Mine doesn't have green carpet, but it does have the TE logo. The good news is that they're in production again! In England, where they should be!
