I was just wondering mainly what the Humbucker pickup is in the Silhouette Special, since I am getting one. I know that regular Silos have the Virtual PAFs, but I remeber reading a while back on the forum that it was a different humbucker. Also if you guys know what the singles are or what they come close to. Im not too concerned about the single coils because those I am going to switch 100% to Fast Track 1s which is what Vinnie Moore uses, and the bridge probably as well to a Tone Zone. Should be a damn versetile geetar w/ the piezo option as well :D.

Roubster's correct on the newer ones having a Virtual PAF. The single coils are DiMarzio custom wound. I don't know what to compare them to, but they sound just slightly overwound, somewhere between vintage and modern s/c tone.

I had a set of Fralins to drop into my rosewood board sil special, but after playing the stock pups awhile, I decided I really liked them and so decided to leave it stock.

Something to consider, I think, before replacing the bridge bucker is how well it splits in position 3 and 4. The Virtual PAF does a great job with that. It's pretty tightly focused in the upper mids and cuts through the mix very well.
