Do you guys mainly always play through the same stuff? I think everytime I plug in it's something different.

Well some of us don't have the resources and the need to have a collection similar to Steve's. Yes, just one amp.

You never try out a new pedal? Switch out guitars? New lucky shirt? :)

This wasn't really meant to be a show us all your stuff thread, more like a what are you playing through right this second thread. With pics.

It just struck me as a I was practicing today that I had never tried that particular combo before. That's one of the things I like about playing, everyday is different.

I bet Steve is practicing through a Roland Cube right now. ;)

Sorry if sounded offended cause I wasn't.
Currently I'm trying to force myself to play with the minimum amount of effects to improve my technique. To better hear myself screw up :)
Don't have time to experiment with the sound right now.

That sure is sweet. Does Bradshaw sell that stuff off the shelf or do you have to wait for it to be made?

The answer to that is actually a mixed bag....
The Cabinets I got the same week I ordered them, of course I ordered them from indoorstorm.com (Eddie Berman Rocks), they came From John Suhrs shop.

The Preamp I bought Used, it was made in 1993 but it was in MINT condition. The new ones take FOREVER to get and they are made "differently"... suffice to say they DO NOT sound the same. The ones made through about 1998 are "Old School" and sound awesome. Of course no matter what year you get If you send it to John Suhr, as I did, he will mod it and it will sound spectacular... even the new ones.....

I ordered the CAE RS-10+Expander, Super Tremolo and Mini Mixer at the beginning of July and I had them the first week of August. CAE notoriously has a SLOW turn around time, the DO only havce 3 people in the shop ....so one Month was Super fast for them... most people wait 6 months or more.

I found that if I called once a week for an "Update" from Bob and Gave him a Deadline upfront, I was leaving town for some shows in mid August so I NEEDED the gear, things were finished very quickly.

Sometimes he Does have stuff in stock and there is no wait........

To be honest Bob was Great to work with, he was super nice and ALWAYS called me back the same day if I had left a message. He even called me the morning he shipped my gear to let me know he was sending it out.

The gear its self is Bullet Proof.. to be honest I was Very suprised at the Weight of each unit... Super Sturdy, Well worth the wait.

Speaking of the devil, FedEx guy just stopped by to drop off a large box with a small power supply inside.... Now I can finally turn my Rocktron Gainiac on. I've been struggling to get a power supply for it locally for a while, but noone seemed to have 9v 1.5Amp power supllies.
Well I plugged it in my Mesa's effect return... very different from Mesa's own preamp, not sure if I like it or not yet (my housemate is sleeping, can't crank it), but very different. A lot of tight bottom end.

OK cool.. I'm breathing a little easier. ;)

I've seen too many guitars take a nosedive when propped up like that. (Not MY guitars, mind you, as I'm very cautious about resting them in stands!)

I have a much more modest rig than some of the racks shown above....

gear2.jpg

Chain:
Morley Wah
MXR Phase 90
Mesa Boogie Rect-o-verb
Visual Sounds H20 Chorus and Delay

I've sold off all the digital whoosits (except for the small rack of stuff there and with my PA gear) and have gone back to the bare bones with a tube amp. :)

Do we list our guitars??
US Charvel San Dimas II (Koa)
Ernie Ball Music Man Silhouette (Pearl White)

Currently Under Modification:
Charvel Strat with Jackson Phil Colin Neck (Blue Quilt over Ash)
Warmoth Axis Hardtail (Green Quilt over Mahogany)
Charvel Model 3 (metallic black)
Fender Strat (burgundy - not shown)
Charvel ATX acoustic/electric (burgundy - not shown)

Under Construction:
Spalted maple Semi-hollow body (axis inspired)

How sad is out of a dozen or so guitars I have...(I didn't even think about the Carvin DC 125 being stripped down to the bare wood or the Silverstreet taxi).. only TWO are strung up and ready to play????

I'm going to have to get that Fender and at least two of the Charvels rewired and strung back up this weekend. :p

Well, you clearly love to mod your guitars! I think it's great- if you like doing it, stick with it :D

I'm more on the completed project side of the fence, but I've got a good stash of project guitars that I really need to finish too. (Next up is a 1950s Supro archtop in pieces ... my dad's old guitar ... but that's really more woodworking than I feel comfortable doing yet.)

My sister's family was in town for the week and we met my dad at a restaraunt for dinner last night........

... he asks me "Do you still want that double necked guitar you built?"

Man... I didn't even realize he had that in his attic. It was one of my first failed frankensteins. I actually took an Ibanez strat body, sanded it down, and sanded down a P-Bass body and glued them together. My back hurts just thinking about it.

The cumbersome nature of that guitar/bass was what eventually lead me to tuning all of my guitars in 5ths for a 5 octave range.
