I have had literally dozens of EB Basses and next month there are three nice ones comming to my local shop. A Buttercream Stingray, A Bongo HH 5, and a Natural SR5. I really want the SR5 but the Bongo is the first that the store has ever had and I think my shop has got to be one of the biggest EB sellers in Virginia so this is a big deal. But the Buttercream is a Limited Edition....ah what to do?

I tried to trade him my Single H Bongo for that "Green Hornet Bongo" and got shot down. Thats the only bass Id trade my Single H for.

I know you like 5'ers Scott, so the Bongo HH is what I'd recommend too. I'd even go as far to say that the Bongo will be the first bass you've owned that you won't want to sell.

Sad to say my love affair with the Bongo is over. I'd recommend the Nat SR5 just like I have or wait til a ButterCream 5er comes to town. That'd be saweet with a tort guard! I just like the SR's better. (Dude should give me a discount on strings for saying this!) :D

Have you lost your mind, lad?

You've had countless Stingray 5s. Even I don't know how many Stingray 4s. I've owned yours, you've owned mine, we both know what those basses do.

Time to take a walk on the wild side, sir! You and I both know you want that Bongo.

Hell, this isn't even really a question, is it?

Nah. You're getting the Bongo. Admit it.

Sure I am. You could sell me one of your 5's and speed the process up a wee bit

I can't! I really can't. The black fiver is THE best fiver I've ever owned (yes, I know, I've owned fancy Laklands and Modulii and all that but I mean it) and the green one now has a name! Plus I just got it. Plus the guys would make (more) fun of me.

But you have to get one. Stop putting it off.

I think it is a Rolls Burgundy but I prefer the Radiance Red, Lava Pearl or Desert Gold. I even like the White ones.

The white ones do look nice, but there's nothing wrong with rolls burgundy ....

Yeah, I didn't think I liked that finish until I finally saw decent photos (that one, specifically) of it.

Beaut, ain't she?

Scott, after owning Stingray 4's and 5's and a couple really nice Sterlings, I can say with complete honesty that while the others are very nice basses, the Bongo will be everything they are and more.

I really liked my Bongo until I got to do some recording with it and play it with a band. Now I adore my Bongo. No joke! It fits the bill sonically every time. Of course, some people don't like the way they look, and that's fine, but this bass will deliver every time you ask it to.
