Hi everyone,

I'm new on here and would appreciate any help as to how my guitar fits into the Music Man history...

Nearly 20 years ago I sold my car to finance the purchase of a brand new Musicman Silhouette and a Mesa Boogie amp. Played in lots of bands for a short while before family life and work took over. I sold the Boogie, but held onto the Silhouette (could not part with it).

Nearly 20 yearslater, I still have the guitar and I am the only owner from new. She has a humbucker near the bridge and two single coils, she's has a six bolt maple neck and an ash body finished in a vintage blue burst. Serial no. is 91782.

I used her a lot for gigging for 2 or 3 years, but since then she has remained in her case. A shame I know, but I will return to her from my acoustic one day...

Any info on my particular guitar (or silhouettes from the same period) would be gratefully received.

Post your thread in the serial number thread which is a sticky thread at the top of the first page on the forum and some one from ebmm will likely get back to ya next week. Great story!

Hey Alunturlin, post a pic of this alleged "Silhouette". We need visual proof dammit!

Actually that's not true.... we just never get tired of looking at pictures of Music Man guitars. Welcome to the forum.

I played in metal/alternative rock bands and she had a pretty hard time, if truth be known. Not mint condition, but still sounds fab. And I will never sell.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your kind words.

Yes Keith, I bought it from The Music Exchange, Lammas Street, Carmarthen, West Wales - around 1991. There were two in stock, mine and another in classic sunburst - which I think had a trem. I part-exchanged a black Rickenbacker 330.

Are you the same Keith that worked there for a while?

Cheers - AJ

Very nice blu burst silo indeed, a perfect match with the maple board.

Just wondering - what mesa model did you let go?

Welcome to the board! :D
