I've got a Pete Cornish G-2.

I really like the sound from it, plus the active buffer in there seems to clean up the rest of my signal path. I noticed that before I got it, I was experiencing quite a lot of attenuation of the high frequencies and everything seemed muddy. After I put the pedal into the signal chain, it sounded as though a blanket had been removed from in front of the amplifier.

Mind you, a lot of people listening really preffered the blanket in front :D

I use the Fulltone OCD for distortion and a Full-Drive 2 for overdrive... I've had a Full-Drive on my pedal board since Mike first introduced back around 1991... Love the tone of these pedals with my rig...

No distortion pedals here.

I figure if Guitar > cord > Amp doesn't do it for you, you need to change something. :)
I think theres a lot of truth in that. But then again, there is this guy called Eric Johnson who uses a few distortion pedals. I'd give Foggy all my EBMM's for that guys tone ;)

Eric sure is a genius, fabulous tone. Though i hear these days he isnt using so many pedals, i read an interview with him where he says he actually is starting to enjoy being able to plug straight into an amp and not be so anal about it!!!!
I can tell you he is still very much using a fuzz face (with a rubber band wrapped around the center) and a proto chandler tube driver. I had lunch with Eric a few years back and he's the real deal. He is also is dating a girl from Sydney as well.

Same here. Haven't bought any distortion pedals for myself since 1989. In '91 I got a Mesa .50Cal+, and I haven't really ever been fully satisfied with any distortion pedals I've tried. I kinda like the Keeley DS-1, but...there's something missing there for me. Still, I give pedals a try once in a while.
