Hi MM-players,

what do you think about www.plek.com ?
Any experiences?

facinating....
if it ain't too expensive....i might try it.
been dressing & refretting my own for quite a while now though. i know how to get just what I like reasonably quickly. still hate crowning though.

i worked on big daingerous 's guitar a few weeks ago......and his had been pleked. it looked real good. suprisingly his problem was the bridge & trem adjustment the plek guy left him with. but...the frets looked perfect.......

How you liking the Luke?
Got me the exact same one.

Hi Keith,

I know that you have the same Luke, but wait - my Luke has a matching headstock and you got natty - right? :)
So it's a completely different guitar :p

I love my Luke. The best guitar I've ever played.

I haven't heard of "Plek". Now, "Plook" is a term that I'm familiar with, as in "These executives have plooked the f%@* out of me.." from Zappa's song "Outside Now". ;)

True!
Glad you're liking it. :D
Thinking about another piezo Luke.
Want Black cherry Burst, but not offered.
May go with Carbon Blue or wait until open house to see what's what.

Had my Tom Anderson with compound radius Fretboard pleked.
The machine is good but the guy in the store(does not longer exist) ****ed it up. They had no Floyd Rose radius program which they have now but in 2001 they hadn´t.
I talked to the guys (they are from germany ) and they explained exactly what went wrong so I have to go to them again directly to berlin. Or send my guitar in.
But before you plek your guitar you should be sure what kind of strings (EB:)) you use and ask them every question.
But the fretdressing itself (crown and polish) are very good, but its not cheap.

No since I own a guitar store by myself and I do repairs for almost 20years we,ve ended that he wanted his own guitar fret dressed by me. Can you imagine that.
Now u ask me why I didn´t fret dress my guitar by myself.
Well I wanted to see if it can get a little better than it was.
Well I think he is still alive but I told him if he wants money ..... he is in serious trouble.
And if he sees one of my guitars again he should just leave the room very quickly.
I think he understood and his boss too who stood 10" from us.

That´s what I told the plek people in berlin and they are very professional and will do it again but I simply don´t have the Time to go there.

And they teached the american partners very very good I´ve heard. So now it should be save.

I have had my EVH hardtail, Axis Hardtail, Wolfgang and an old Aria PE Plek'd by Charlie Chandlers guitar experience in Hampton Wick. www.guitarexperience.co.uk

For me, they create a very consistant feel, and they feel great to play. That said, they were all done after the guitars had had re-frets, so its hard to A/B my Axis against say my ASS.
