My real name is Clifford Samuel. If you ever watched The TV show “Cheers” then the only other name I was missing was Norm. That’s the BS story.
A restaurant I worked in gave me the nickname “Psycho” (go figure). But I couldn’t introduce myself as “Psycho” to a group spending $5000.00 on dinner for some pretty important people. So the boss went with Norman as in Norman Bates. (Yes Mother I’m coming) I then shortened that to norm. And eventually added the obscure capitalization of NorM (pronounced IN-or-EM)
If you have name capability on your caller ID it will show my name as Norm Al. Norm is actually a registered nickname with some pretty “Official” agencies. And I can cash checks with that name too.

It's also more or less obvious.
I began to play bass in a crappy punk band, and I was (and I still am) a big fan of NOFX and their bassist Fat Mike. As I have only skin and bones, the buddies called me Mike not Fat and that sticked.
Note that the bands name was also crappy. We were listening to a band (not a punk one) named "Neds atomic dustbin" and we get "Freds alcooholic ashtray" (due to the name of our guitarist and the bad drinking and smocking habits in that band, that doesn't exist anymore, for the punks sake).

I was trying to sell up my email account years ago - All the cool names were taken.

I ended up with my first two initals and my last name. Almost anywhere I sign up needing a user name - this one's always available.

Mine's pretty boring. I play bass, and I like monkeys. I mean, who doesn't love a monkey? I don't know why I spelled it with three 'e's, though. It made sense at the time.

Never heard of him, is he a tattooist? That was a hummer limo we took to LA for the motley crue show a couple months ago. Nice ride, wish I could remember more of that trip.
