Question What gauge strings comes on the Axis Tribute?

Does anybody know? I usually use 10's and I want to know if I'm going to have to do some set-up work when I get mine.

I believe they're 9's. That's what normal Axi come with. Plays like buttah!

If you put 10s on, you won't have much to do - tighten the trem springs a bit, maybe tighten the truss rod, but that's all.

Yeah, I know, but I still hate to do all that setup work to a brand new guitar. Maybe I'll like the 9's on it! Then EB can have more of my money for a box of Super Slinky's!

Well that depends? I personally always used 10's and never had an issue when I jumped from 9's to 10's. On the other hand I have talked friends into using 10's and they hated them. The main reason I like all my guitars set the same way is so I do not over shoot a bend if I have one set with lighter strings.

I haven't noticed the intonation being off when I've changed from 9's to 10's in the past. I just don't want to have to mess with setting up the Floyd Rose again and trussing the neck. But c'est la vie, I suppose.

Hey FantasyMetal......The Tributes come with 9's.....I also usually use 10-46.......on my guitars...however, these guitars feel and sound so good with 9's...I am keeping 9's on all 3 of my Tributes....The guitars play so easy with the 9's..I feel like I am cheating..I used the Pink one yesterday live for the first time at a gig and it was Amazing......I didn't find the sound to be thin at all!!!! Relax, YOU WILL LOVE IT!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the reply. I'm really looking forward to getting it in my hands, but even though I paid for it on Friday morning, I don't think its going to ship until today, which means Wednesday (AHHH!!!!!) at the earliest. I haven't been this excited about a guitar in a long time!

Hey Fantasy...., please call the store where it is being shipped from...and get a tracking number....On all 3 Tributes I bought....somebody dropped the ball at GC and didn't ship it out until I called....Twice, they upgraded the shipment to second day air for me for their mistake......Stay on top of it...However, when you get it......you will be pleased...What color did you buy?

Well I bought the guitar through a local GC, so I don't think I need to harass them yet. My dad just bought a guitar from them the week before last (on a Friday) and they didn't ship it out til the following Monday (so I think it is just that store's policy). The salesperson that I dealt with at my local GC didn't have a high opinion of that store. Despite the agony of waiting, I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and wait til Wednesday to see if it arrives. I won't have time to really break it in until Wednesday or Thursday anyway (I'm interviewing for a Research Director position on Wednesday and Friday this week, so most of my effort is focused on that right now.) As for the color I went with the Trans Purple. I really like purple guitars so it was the logical choice for me. However, if I can scrounge up enough money for another one before the Dark Lord is released I'll probably go for a pink one (they look super awesome!). And just so you know, I mostly blame you for this with all of your Axis Tribute videos as of late! (LOL, I'm j/k btw!)
