What happened to all of the blue ax40's?

So I'm thinking that there's no way all of these sold out when they were in stores right? What happened to the rest of the ones that didn't sell? Did they go back to sterling? I'm in the market for one... But I can't one to save my life.

the blue was a limited run finish and we have no more in stock. You may get lucky and find some old stock from dealers that have not self yet.
