I've learned that the bass I wanted for almost 10 years was worth the wait.

Jack is the lord of the Bongos.

Some dude known as Chuckles (hehe) is the king of Lefthanzia.

BP has dominion over all in this nutty magical kingdom.

And oh yes, hanging around here makes people buy more EBMM Basses.
It is a conspiracy I tell you :D

I've learned how to compute ohms when combining cabs!

series or parallel?

Wish I had Gear Accumulation Syndrome rather than Gear Acquisition Syndrome. Much easier to deal with too much gear than not enough.

the hoping nobody has to deal with the China Syndrome, Videodrome nor Mad Max Beyond Thunderdrome,

I've learned the loyalty of the EBMM family. Great community. Questions answered. Advice given. And friendship through a common connection ... even if we're thousand of miles away from eachother :)
Okay .. that was a moment .. awkward, leaving now .. tissue anyone?

I'm tired this morning & feeling kind of subdued--maybe watching too much about Paris Hilton--but it's put me into a more serious mode (rare state for me). So, I'll just say that I've learned a lot about EBMM basses & still have a lot more to learn. I've also learned to love my EBMMs more than most of my other basses.

- The fine art of the friendly insult.
- That BP and crew *really* know what they're doing and we should not whine about it.
- That no matter how many times it is said that we should not whine about it, somebody will.
- That the knuckleheads are really, really good people.

OK, I'm a bit more awake now. By the time I got here, I had pretty well gotten fixated on my Bongos. The two things I have specifically learned here are:
1. Please Dont pm (BP)....
2. Please contact customer service prior to posting a problem with your instrument....
I learned this by listening & learning...not through personal experience.

That you can never have enough Balls

That I may be a closet Bongoloid

That I am not alone in my afflictions

That this is like an inverted group therapy session where the objective is to encourage the addiction not cure it

I have learned...........

That there are still a few companies that actually care about their end users.

That when you have outstanding employees and outstanding products, you have an outstanding company.

That "customer service" isn't just a number on a website.

That not all musicians are NOT part time busboys at Denny's.

That the forumites are a force to be reckoned with.

That generosity still exists. And when help is needed, some people still band together to provide that help.

That people like BP, Beth, Dan McPherson, AJ, Jongitarz, and everyone else I have dealt with at EBMM, and their dealers, like Pop's Music, DuBaldo Music Center, and until recently Bovinehost are top notch!

And finally, that you all are my favorite bunch of grown-ups! Although, some of us are more grown up than others!

Jack sort of likes Bongos.
BP gets lots of PMs.
He has the eerie power to cloud women's minds.
EBMM makes great basses. (actually, that knowledge predates this forum)
Customer service can't be beat.
You can't believe everything you read. (wait, I already knew that, too.) (and not to end sentences with a preposition)

I think the most important thing I learned here way back when was to set my Stingray's EQ flat & work from there to get a supreme tone!

I've also learned that EBMM basses are the best ones for me.

I've learned that thru this forum that the world actually still has good, caring people on it. The people here have helped me thru many more things than just how to adjust a truss rod.

I love all of you. :D

I'm in Palm Beach and while the rest are away frying themselves, I shall take a nice cool nap!

That one EBMM leads to another.

Haven't we all learned that! :D

Being a seasonal and novice gigging musician, I've picked-up so many great tips and learned so much from the collective experiences of the forum I am always grateful for the knowledge that I carry with me that came from here. I recently realized that my entire rig has been directly influenced by this crowd - strings, bass, amp, cabs, wireless unit - everything. Including how big (or not) it is.

Tom: Series AND parallel! :D
