I use a Peterson VS-1 at home and a Boss TU-12 on my pedal board - I recommend both highly...

I've got a Peterson StroboStomp, but the price tag might scare you away. It *is* a very expensive little tuner pedal..

For a more reasonable price, I'd say the Boss tuner pedal.. I know guys who have gigged constantly with those things for YEARS and they've always withstood the abuse and gotten the job done.

I agree with what others have said. The Petersons are at the high end of the price spectrum ($150-$200). The Boss units are also great (~$50-$100). For what it's worth, I've had a Korg that I bought in the early 80s that has never let me down. I still use it today, even though every multi-effects pedal I have has a built in tuner.

The one thing I would recommend is that you at least get one with a real, analog meter. I find it extremely helpful when setting the intonation. The flashing LEDs on some of the newer units can make setups a bit tedious. My 2 cents...

People love the peterson. I really like my Seiko chromatic tuner. All a tuner is is a frequency counter which is a time base. I figure Seiko knows how to tell time.

I use a Peterson VS1 on my bench at home, and at work. I have a Seiko on my pedal board. ( I still might get a Strobo stomp later)
