Roubster,

I believe the JSX, like the Triple XXX that it was derived from, has no reverb on board. (I'm talking about the head, not sure about the combos.)

Yes in deed it does. I looked at Peavey website and you can see it there clearly. I think this is most definatly and unltimatly what I am going to get. It's like 90% at this point. However the worst part is I have NOOOO idea when this is going to happen. Possibly next year after the summer. I spent money on my Silo a month ago, and now I need a GOOD digital camera that will run me like 600-700, and I am saving up money to go to Bulgaria next summer for like 2 months. If anybody wants to donate some money to me for ANY of these 3 main events I need to spend money on, feel free to do so. It would be apreciated for ever :D .

Oh yea, what about the Peavey 6505 or whatever the number is (the new 5150) combo? Has anyone tried that? And also what about the Mesa Boogie F-100?
However I am really feelin these Peaveys.

Yea, never mind that then. I know it must be awesome for that lead, cuz Morse uses it of course. But I need something very versetile, and I think JSX will suit me just fine. What do people make of the VHT and Laney amps? This thread might go on for like a year until I decide to buy the damn thing. lol :p
It's just that there is SOOOOO much stuff damn it. But it's fun for me ;) hehehehe.

6505 Combo is the sh*t for sure. I'd disagree with the one sound comment, granted you're not going to get super cleans out of it, you can coax a lot of different tones, mainly overdriven type tones, from Marshall to Soldano, but they're awesome. Its definitely a rock guitar amp, there is zero 'twang' or 'jangly' clean. You can get some nice slightly broken up cleans, and you 'can' get very clean if you tweak a bit.

In any case it sounds like you want something that does a lot. In the Peavey range, that'd be the JSX, like I said before sparkling clean to ridiculous distortion, add in the low power mode on the combo (50/100 watt), noise gate, swappable power tubes (6L6/EL34), three channel, etc.. If I were shopping for an amp, I'd be looking very hard at the JSX, even over my 5150's.
