I have a translucent green Music Man Sport (I believe). As near as I can tell they only made the S/S/H configuration one year - though I could be wrong. It is in very good condition.

Thanks.

...and this moderator won't allow it.

To all new members, the forum rules are clear - you must have a minimum of 25 posts, be around for a month and most importantly, be a contributing member of good standing before posting ads for sale. The rules are in place because forum members asked for them after some very bad deals. We take them very seriously. Please respect them.

Any posts that appear to circumvent those rules are simply deleted.

Lizard king, welcome to the forum family! Sorry I had to delete your post but if you want to sell you guitar, it's not gonna be here for some time yet.

EDIT: These kind of posts come up all the time and people will respond and tell you what your guitar is worth. But you will not sell your guitar here until the moderators decide you have met the requirements asked for by the forumites.

Back to your regular programming...

I, personally did not see him solicit anything. Looks like he just wants to know the fair market value of an instrument. Perhaps for a sale at a later date when he has established a rapport. Am I missing something?
Respectfully,
Kevin

that guitar was recently listed on Ebay. the OP either just bought it and is trying to decide if he overpaid, or he is trying to determine if he is asking too much for it as a seller. either way the ebay listing is gone and BP might be right.

who knows?, but the Lizard King.

It is worth what the market bears, which unfotunately is low nowdays, Ozzy we have an unwritten rule to keep people from just trying to sell and not contributing to the forum, now if he info fishing or selling hard to tell, so cautionl rules, now LK stays and plays then all is good!!

I understand the rules, I guess I just would give the guy the benefit of the doubt unless he specifically asked "if someone wanted to buy". I didn't know the ebay history. Oh well. Thanks for clarification guys.

ozzy, the only reason i know about the ebay listing is because i've been religously scouring the web for a certain guitar that i want, but can't seem to find. i saw that listing and thought that a forum member might pick it up in honor of the late mbgreene (search the forum if you don't know).

on a side note, i did pull the trigger on a tasty little axe that should land next week.......:) - new ball (for me) next week.

Kevin,

can't reveal just yet. i've got to receive it still, and i'm going to make some pickup changes in it before i show it. it's nothing too fancy, just a solid little ripper.

Ozzy please give us the benefit of the doubt....when you quote a price in a thread that you are supposed to be finding out the value....we delete the price one and keep the what the guitar is worth.

No problem, Kevin!

He posts a price, I deleted it, explain why, even apologise, and then welcome him to the forum. I think that's pretty fair.
Then he opens a new topic to bitch about about how bad we treat him (which is also deleted).

But he's still welcome here if he respects the rule - he gets the benefit of the doubt that he's a good guy who didn't know the rule and then overreacted. You guys should give us the benefit of the doubt that we're not the bad guys, OK?

I could have just deleted his post, or even the whole darn thread and PM'd him the reason why but people don't feel right if threads disappear very often, so we try not to do that. This type of thing comes up a LOT more often than you guys realize. Sometimes a reminder in a current thread is a useful thing for others too.

So tell me, what's a trans Green HSS Axis with a scratchplate worth? Possibly my favourite looking Axis! Were abalone pickguards ever available on the Axis? That would be beautiful!

Dr. Kev,
Sorry, I guess since I didn't see the original post with price, I questioned. It's like getting 1/2 the info, then making a comment. My apologies, bro.

So, in answer to the OP's question, I'd say in the UK it's worth anywhere between £550-£700, depending on the time of year/state of the economy/desparation of punter to pick one up.

For the US, I'd guess $650-$800, although both markets are pretty slow at the moment.
