Wait a minute......

you did imply that we did something wrong first by requesting warranty information. Warranties only apply if we did something wrong.

You have a collection worth over 25k and think that a new neck at $250 is treating you wrong......

You used the finish cracks to get a better price...thats why you aren't asking the dealer for help.....

I guess I would be more comfortable welcoming you if you got your hand out of my pocket......

Nevermind, Poppa, no welcome needed. Pretty sure I don't want you to get another dollar of mine. I asked about a warranty in the beginning, because I had no idea if the cracks were a defect or if it had fallen in the store. Even if it was a defect, it's no biggy, I've seen them on 300 dollar guitars and 3000 dollar guitars. I wouldn't judge a company by that.

I never said $250 was wrong. Just wanted to know if there was a repair option instead of replacement. A.J. never elaborated. I think Dan was the first to state that he thought it was just a finish crack and that if so, a repair may be able to be completed at a cost much lower than $250.

Of course I used the cracks to get a better price at the dealer. I stated that clearly. Isn't that a reasonable expectation that anyone would make? A little off for a cracked product? Then I could contact you guys. If it was a store accident, I could get you to repair it and still have a pretty nice guitar for a pretty nice price. If it was a defect, then maybe your warranty would cover it. When I bought it, I fully expected to have to deal with a repair or just play it as is. A SUB1 is not a colletors piece.

My hand in your pocket. Not likely. I don't want anyone's money. I earn what I spend and I spend freely with builders that treat me with common courtesy.

Thanks to Kevin for sure. His responses could be used to teach classes. Top notch. Dan and AJ were helpful too. Man, I'm sure EB has a lot of good CS, but maybe Papa could learn from the trenches. As for the SUB, I'll just play it. If the cracks cause a break later, I'll just give a local guy some business.

Subterrainian I believe you are in the wrong on everything you have said. In my eyes all I have seen/read is your poor attempt of swindling the warranty department out of a new neck. Whether it be for a adjusted price or free is wrong. You knew the neck had the crack in it when you bought it from the dealer. EB would not of shipped a guitar with that imperfection in it. Then EB offered to replace it or fix it. I don't know of any company that would of gone that far. Most say thats our price take it or tough $*!t I'm sorry but I cannot welcome you to this forum. I have had nothing but positive experiences with the Ernie Ball company. They will do anything they can to make you a happy customer. But you cannot win them all no matter how hard you try.

Sub Some customers just dont fit. I just reread this thread from the start. I dont take back anything. What Im sayinto0 yo is what the guys in the trenches wish they could.
starting so innocently about no warranty with you r guitar and then posting emails that werent enough for you. I would be willing to guess if AJ said "We will give you a new neck you would have stopped posting.

now please stop posting for good.

I agree BP. This guy's situation has nothing to do w/ warranty. He got a deal on a store-damaged product. Warranty on that is non-existant, and in my books anything thing else that goes wrong w/ that guitar once you buy it as a store-damaged product.

With the deal you got you should just play the thing w/o repairing it. Once you repair it you're paying the same price it would have cost to order a new one at regular price and full warranty (depending on who does the repairs) and thus defeated the purpose of buying a damaged product.
