I had a BFR Valentine and I didn't notice any significant difference as opposed to my other MM gits. I agree with St_G that its likely oil and wax unless otherwise noted.

With that inlay down the middle of the back of the neck, I'm going to guess that it's satin poly, to keep the inlay from wearing / popping out.

If that is the "Trans Walnut" and has a bound neck, then it definitely is poly. All bound necks have satin poly.

I have two BFRs, an Axis (birdseye maple neck) and a Sabre (all rosewood neck). The Axis has a thin satin poly, while the Sabre has the oil/wax treatment. I've seen some that have gloss finish. So, what they use on the neck can vary depending on the model.

From the look of the photos, I'd say you have satin poly.

The only thing on a BFR neck is special mojo sprinkled on during assembly.
