My fav jazz fusion guitar player is Al Di Meola... John MacLaughlin too, Santana like many others in the 70's in his fusion - jazz period was great too.

What´s your fav fusion-jazz guitar player?

I've been listening to a lot of collaborations with great jazz/fusion guys lately. Most seem to have Gambale on them somewhere. He's amazing and definitely my current favorite.

Also, I don't know if this is fusion/jazz but Guthrie Govan is in heavy rotation on the iPod as well.

DISCLAIMER - I love DiMeolas work with Paco De Lucia and Mclaughlin on the Guitar Trio albums but I honestly haven't listened to much of McLaughlin or DiMeola outside of those albums.

Guthrie Govan is very impressive and is clearly a great talent, but is this really jazz-fusion? I mean no disrespect, I appreciate talent no matter the style or genre of music.
Just so y'all know where I'm coming from, I prefer a minimum of effects - a little overdrive and a little reverb is my idea of the ideal sound.
I have been away from music for 25+ years so please pardon this post if it reflects my musical ignorance.
