Hell guys,

I know all of you have a passion for music and beautiful instruments. There's a thread going around about occupations and age. I am curious to see what else you guys like to do. Here are some things I enjoy and do.

I am a big MMA fan
I do Jiu Jitsu and Judo
Off-roading/quading
Video games (Xbox 360 when I have time)
Playing with my 2 Chihuahuas

I have a couple of other hobbies, but will preface by saying I do not spend nearly the time with either that I used to because I much prefer to spend any spare time I have playing with my balls...

1. Antique Radio. I have collected, repaired and restored antique radios for many years . I do not pursue it these days, but have a collection of some very collectible sets.

2. Beta test software. I have an association with Serif software and am a member of beta test teams on several of their graphics related applications.

Cool thread -

I build replica and improved vintage Fender Blackface amplifiers in spare time. I think a Hoffman turret-boarded Princeton Reverb circuit with master volume is the cats meow. Doing one soon. Finishing up a Deluxe Reverb.
Also do some wheeling, fishing, camping, hiking, although alot less since my wifes illness. I do spend more time now surfing the net, but I try to make it productive. Looking for parts, good deals, etc.. and of course, don't we all spend some time here and on other forums? I should also say I like wrenching on my own vehicles, rebuilding 22R(E) toyota engines, rebuilding carbs, fixing any mechanical problem, and doing all my own routine maintenance; changing oil and filters, coolant, bleeding brakes, pads and shoes, tune-ups, etc.. absolutley hate it when/if I bugger up a fret hand finger.

It'll be interesting to see everyone's interests.... :D

Ed, nice thread idea.

In the past year, I have started making and editing videos for my friends and it has turned into a bit of a side business. I may get into the wedding video racket because it is easy money if you can stand hearing the "chicken dance" every weekend.

I also am a video game junkie whether it be xbox or PS3.

And I love movies. (hate TV) I have about 650 DVD's and have just started my blu ray collection. about 12 so far.

nice chicks, what are they holding between your legs?

err.. back to topic... hobbies: spending time with the family, reading, cycling, playing with the band, surfing cross the web, EBMM forum, wrenching and modding my non-EBMM guitars (I do not mod the EBMMs)... being lazy !

all in all not very extraordinary hobbies. There is not a lot of time when work, family, balls and band are done :)

Pipes. I restore and sell estate smoking pipes. I just started getting into this and really enjoy it. I've always been fascinated with pipes and there is quite a bit there you'd never even think about. I've also made several pipe tampers out of stag horn and spent bullet casings (mostly .40SW).

Remodeling. I've been working on my bathroom for a year now, mainly because I don't have a lot of time and it's a very small space. Also my front porch and eventually my kitchen.

Kids. I have two of them, both very young. One of the main reasons I don't have time for hobby number 2.

Archery and plinking. I picked up a crossbow with my "stimulus" money and rid my garden of one rabbit to date. I also found a compound bow really cheap at a yard sale and how have to replace some siding on my house. Great fun! Trying to get hooked up with a local rifle range so I can practice and be worth something when hunting.

Karate....although I don't formally practice anymore, I do work with my kids a bit.
Cars....I've raced in the past and mostly instruct on the track during the non-snow months. Anyone wanna buy a racecar project? :D I also have a Factory Five Cobra replica that I built that I drive sometimes during the summer.
.....and with the 2 kids, I'm a soccer/baseball/skateboard park watcher. I make sure that the grass stays there while the kids do their thing.
I'm also a moderator on the biggest Subaru forum in the world.

Not sure I consider guitar playing a hobby....it's too important to me.

I keep fit cycling, canoeing and running, but no collections or anything like that.

had a few hobbies over the years.

Played to a highish level at soccer - signed up for a pro team while a school boy but never made it.
My buddy who signed with me went on to play at the highest level and he played for Wales.

I got into VW's and owned a 1954 oval windowed bug then a 1960 Baja Bug.
became Chairman of the South Wales VW owners club raising a lot of money for Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy. Sold off odds and VW sods to raise money for my BCB AL. Did some surfing (not the computer kind)

Got heavily into DIY (having worked for 2 years on a building site) ended up building my own garage, installing double glazing, kitchen, bathroom, refitting Victorian fireplaces into my property and fixing plaster cornice work. Can Plaster lay brickwork (shoot Spud what's this a CV ????)
Went to night school to learn how to do stained glass, and have re installed the Leaded glass windows in my house, made lamp shades, mirrors, terrariums - maybe I should make a MM stained glass window or how about a stained glass guitar ha!!!

Studied Shotokan Karate for 8 years and had to give up after a near fatal car crash which injured my neck.
I smile when people say "get a life!" - I haven't enough time in this one !!

I enjoy collecting beer steins and devouring all kinds of delicious beers. Yum! Used to be pretty good at skateboarding, but I'm gettinga bit old and injury prone.

Cool Thread! I have such little free time between work and my family. Other than music, my only other true hobbie is fly fishing. I've been seriously considering buying a kayak this summer and getting into that too. It's a day dreaming hobby :)

Since becoming a dad, most of the hobbies have taken a back seat to family time. Here's a few things that I still like to do when I have the time:

- mountain biking (I have a Kona Dawg and Specialized Stumpjumper)
- web app design
- drag racing ('01 Trans Am)

WORKING, oh sorry that's a necessity. Hahahahahahaha

Hanging with my kids, golf, computers and guitars (because for a crappy player like me it's a hobby).
