So, after recently swapping necks (fretless to trans white SR5, maple to honeyburst), I decided to try a new colour pickguard as well. It's a 3-ply matte black/w/b.

Which do you prefer?

I am really liking the matte black. It's like I have a new bass all over again! :)

Tort might be nice, but it would have to be the right tort. Some can be pretty ugly. White pearloid might even look good.

I think the black on honeyburst is the best though. You don't see it as often as white.

I like the white too. When I originally ordered the bass, I specifically requested those colours: black hardware (screws, knobs, pickup, switch) against white. All the SR5s in that finish that I had seen up to then had a white pickup with chrome knobs. There is a nice contrast with the black against white.

The good news is that I can put the white one back in a little while and feel like I just got a new bass again. It's like poor man's GAS!
