Post the song YOU think best demonstrates "REVERB".

Live or studio?

Hall, plate, spring or digital it doesn't matter.

Any songs where there is too much reverb ?

are you sure you mean reverb? The best use of delay or echo is probably an easier question to answer. For delay "Run like hell" comes instantly to mind and I think of early Elvis with Scotty Moore for that classic slap back echo. Reverb is usually used to give the impression that it's in a small medium or large environment. Where as the delay and echo give the impression of multiple environments as they exaggerate the sound source.

For reverb, I'd say the intro to 'Sorrow' by Pink Floyd.

Recorded using a steinberger, then replayed through a big PA rig at some stadium or other and recorded from there.

Obviously the budget was a bit limited on that one....

I would have lent them my Zoom 1202 if they'd asked!!

opening chords to "pink orange red" by the cocteus pretty much nails it as reverb/delay goes.

also that bass lick on blue monday by new order....i think that was a basement with a stack in it.

but what was that rush track where they fired the guitar track across some canyon in canada to get the reverb??
