Hi there, I am about to order a new Stingray 5. But I do not know enough about the new pick up configerations on offer.
Can anyone advise the difference between the single pick up and the Dual humbucking or single humbucking pick ups?
My style is rythm and blues/soul music. Any advice greatly appreciated.

Well, I think a second Pickup will be nice to get a thumpier tone with a neckPU. I do like my Stingray 5 HH very much for the positions 2 and 4. That is one coil of every pickup together in parallel.

But you can sure play anything with a single H Stingray as well. So its mainly your personal taste.

It is best if you try all possibilities at a dealer nearby and make a decision.

Out of all three styles I chose the HS as my main players.
Love the S tone on its' own....great for blues, jazz, swing, motown and old rock.
Then combine or solo the H for all out Funky goodness
