I've owned two JP7s, and I've sold them to buy the BFR, wich hasn't popped up in my mail box yet..
But these days I play a lot of drop-tunings..
Will the nut on the JP7 BFR support..like.. 0.66 gauge f.ex?

you can always file the nut to your liking... but it's the opening on the tuners that you should be worried about...

unfortunately I don't think you'll be able to drill these out. They're schaller M6 minis, and the locking mechanism actually has 2 little balls that clamp down on the string, and those are directly in the string path. if you took a drill do it, you'd destroy the clamps.

but yeah, a baritone would get you the low tuned goodness!

Hmm... I checked and you are right... That I didn't think about.
Thanks man..

Ya, I'll go for a cheap baritone, and test some gauges..

Can I ask if the M6 minis and the nut on a JPXI will be okay with skinny top / heavy bottom strings? Will the nut need filing?

Thanks.

All you have to do is unwind the end of the string and you can use whatever size string you want. The nut is the bigger issue than the tuner.

I put those on my Reflex, the nut is fine. No problems with the tuners also. Guess it's no different for the JPXI.
