I change cars more often than I change strings. That's the great thing about flatwound strings.

good one...my dad has a 1962 Fender Bass VI, very rare first year production that he bought when he was 16 at a pawn shop for $100 in 1964...anyways, supposedly he has had the same flatwound strings on that bass since he graduated college in 1972...still sounds better than those $50 junk basses you find at super stores

Super slinky 45-65-80-100 i just got the bass and it had Acme Brand D on it and where a little thicker i would say 50-105 because the new slinks brought this baby to life fast response, clean clear notes ,great tension i had my buddy over tonite and he offered to trade me his Warwick thumb bass for it on the spot, said it (my Sterling)was the best bass hes ever played barre none!

I put flats on my fretless, and perversely it seems to be sounding better as the strings get older (actually old). Maybe I am slowly going crazy.

SUB4: Acme, haven't tried the EB's. Small gauge, for fast popping and slapping. (around here, they say the EB G's tend to break faster).
GHS flea signature boomers were to floppy for me. Soon dead + G-string weakness after boiling.
The one's I use now are just perfect. Will try Eb's when buying a real stingray.

On the SR 20th, Bongo HH and Sterling HS, Hybrid or Super Slinky - pretty much by whim.
On other types of basses, Super Slinkys, or some low tension high priced rounds.

Well, I discovered my favorite strings 30 years before I discovered I loved EBMM basses......So, I am faithful to them as well as SLO approved instruments.....

They start with an "R"............And they sound great on my EBMM stuff......

However, I do use EB Group IV flatwounds on my fretless.......

I use... eh... DoctoR strings.

They sound amazing and last a long, long time. They have a roundcore which adds a lot of flexibilty for bending and such.

Forum or No Forum, Ernie Ball Super Slinky 45 to 100 are absoluetly The Best I've found and I have tried them all from DR's to you Name it, I even Have another well known String deal but I still insist to pay for Slinky's.

They last forever and when they die they go out evenly.

I use these. I've had them on my bass since last August and they still sound (and feel) great!

Slinkys, .65 - .130 on a 4 strings bongo, tuned DGCF.

Before, I was using Power Slinkys with a classical EADG tunning.

I tried many othet brands, but allways come back to Slinkys !

Regular Slinkys on my SR5, and "other" strings on my "other" basses. The SR doesn't sound right without Slinkys. Also, my personal, unsolicited opinion is that the B needs to be at least .130 to not sound floppy.

Rock.
