Now that I have been part of the EB MM family with my purchase of a SR5HH about 6 months ago, my fender p has been collecting dust. I am looking for something to do with it but I can't seem to think of anything. I suppose it will have to be a backup. Maybe I will just use it for those few songs that have oddball tuning on a 4 string such as CGDG.

Any ideas?

hey Jar,
near you now is a high school with a music program and not very much money, in that program is a bass player waiting to get his/her hands on your extra bass ... you have the power to make someone's dreams come true and help create a fine jazz band player or high school garage band bass player ... either a loan or donation could also get you a prime spot and honourable mention at the next school concert:cool::)

Hey Pzo,

On second thought, because it's a F....r, I kinda think that may be "contributing to the deliquency of a minor"!!

Put it in a stand near the door and use it to hold your hat?

Added bonus is that it keeps roaches away.

HEY, HEY, JUST KIDDING, I love them P-basses.

Demonstrate perfect pitch with it. In this case, of course, a perfect pitch is one where the P-bass lands right on the tip top of the bonfire.

Huh. We'd still be playing uprights if it wasn't for p-basses. Try fitting one of those in the trunk of your Honda.

Throw a set of group 2 flats on it and save it for when you want the motown sound.

Pzo had the best idea. IMHO.

There needs to be more of that going on in the world even if it is a fender you are donating.

+1 on putting some flats on her and hanging onto it. Variety is the spice of life.
I enjoy having many tools in the toolbox...you'll always find a need for them.

Its good to have a P around some ppl really want you to have one of those F*****s,

Strangely enough I did a gig this weekend where they "required" a 5 string,,,first time thats ever come up,,,I think in the end there were two tunes that had a low D in them (charts on this gig) a de tuner would of covered it really,,,

Thats exactly what I did! Seriously love the P tone, shame on you people who mock it. Shame on you.

Remember, we get a bad reputation on other forums for bashing fender.

I never really understood that with my last band. I could always cover the bottom end with my d tuner

It's a classic, after all. And if it's a good one, then hang on to it.
