I am together with a killer sounding Big Al. About 4 1/2 month ago I found him somewhere in the states and brought him to Germany, where I live. Since then he is my number one. I sold nearly all the other basses that I owned because from that day they where only dust catchers.

Now to my problem. The Big Al is that fantastic that I would like to have a second one with maple fretboard and in a different color. I would prefer Lava Pearl, which is no longer offered :( but CAR would be also cool. Unfortunately the German Distributor has only white ones on stock. So I decided to order one. Today they told me, that making a Big Al would last 5-6 ... no, not weeks ... month

What can I do to accelerate the build process? Is there no way to get it faster? As far as I know US citizen have to wait 6-8 weeks only!?

The typical wait, here in the states, is 3-4 months.

5-6 months is a lot, it's just a quote though, people have been known to get them under two months, it's just the luck of the draw.

5-6 months is normal. I waited 9 month for my Desert Gold 'Ray... that was a bit longish... (to the point that I bought several other 'Rays in the meantime ;))

If you're familiar with Relativity and have access to a really fast spaceship, you could work on approaching the speed of light. Otherwise, perfection shouldn't be rushed. :)

I wish I knew how to get one this fast. Every one I've ordered has taken me 3-4 months.

2 month would be absolutely no problem...
like i say, you really can't your finger on an accurate time. sometimes it can take no time at all, sometimes it can take forever, but the end result is always worth it ;) Though short of buying something else in the mean time, there's nothing you can do about it! Bear in mind it will spend a good week or two just in transit and customs.

OK, ok, so I will hurry to order. Every minute counts ;)

Thanks for all your comments and folks at EBMM: if there's an order for a CAR/Maple Big Al rushing in, please be careful with that! It is my baby...
