I wanted to know, because I have seen many pictures of the Silo guitars, and some have the speed knobs and some have the nice metal dome ones. I ordered a Silo a while ago, and it should be pretty much done (so I've been told). However I dont really like the plastic speed knobs. As a matter of fact I dont like them at ALL!!! lol  So if the Silo comes with the plastic ones I DEFINATLY want to change them to nice black metal ones. Can I order those from EB or can I just fit any knobs that I like on the thing. I hope it comes in like the next couple of weeks, because I have been goin crazy SINCE I ordered it.

I think you get metal if you ordered the piezo. I have been wrong before and I will be again. I found metal EB knobs on a display at a music store once. So if EB won't sell them directly then your store can order them for you.
I like the metal ones too.
The instrument builder was inconclusive for the short time I played with it.

Hi,

I put metal knobs on my Silo. I think there's pics of it on my link.

I just bought them from Allparts I think or maybe it was Stew Mac.

You just need to make sure that they are the right measurement, I seem to remember that they're imperial not metric.

Hope that helps.

He's right...

Top hat knobs without the piezo, metal dome with.

Thanx for the answers guys. But I'm still wondering why they would do that, top hats without piezzo and domes with. Does it make some kind of a difference or something, because I highly doubt that. Oh, by the way NorM, which guitar do you like better: the Morse or Petrucci. And I'm guessing you like the Silos over anything, especially with the modifications you did. How does that combination sound with the lever, both humbuckers at the same time? I am possibly thinking of doing that at some point, to have some more versatility like MORSE of course, my God ;). Cheers

This is my educated guess. The pots on the wilo with the piezo sit really close together. if you were to use the top hats they would, more then likely, rub against each other. That would be annoying....

24 frets and a tremolo mean I like the pet better. But when I pick up the morse it's the last thing I do that day.
I live for two humbuckers at the same time. With the EMG's its sterile enough to eat off of and I love that.
