Went to buy a second hand 5150 (block logo) in Andertons (Guildford, UK). To complete the EVH vibe the guy in the shop gave me an Axis (hardtail) to use when trying the amp. Loved it and bought both amp and guitar.
Honestly, my first exposure to EBMM was through a friend of mine at University who owned a Stingray. It was sweet. Of course, then the EVH came out. I wasn't really interested. I just plain didn't like it. I've never gone for Floyds. The real reason that I bought my first EBMM was that I was on a quest for a P90 guitar. Gibsons quality control had gone south, so they were out. In the running were a Hamer Special and a Reverend Slingshot Custom and I was leaning towards the Rev. Then one day on the Bay I came across an EBMM MM90 equipped Rosewood Axis Super Sport from Grand Central Music. My curiosity was peaked. The seed was planted. It had a sort of future-retro vibe to it & the wood was amazing. I did some research, had an empty credit card and damn if I didn't buy it on a whim. Well, now I've got 4 EBMM's and love each one. If it weren't for the MM90's I would never have gotten myself into this wonderful mess. Thanks BP!!!
