I'd seek professional help.

The sound of the Bongo is so good, even a caveman would like it!

You loved the look and feel of the Bongo 5, but just couldn't get into the sound?

Hmmm. Interesting. The sound of the Bongo, for me is its BEST attribute. How could you not like the sound, considering that it can sound almost any way you want it to? Well... okay... maybe it can't emulate a First Act (tm) from the local department store... but other than that???

Well I'd say that is unusual, some people have more of a problem with the looks, I've not heard anyone complain about the sound. Buy hey, if you don't like it, you don't like it.

EBMM makes other basses I think you should try, they all are excellent instruments, maybe a Sterling or a StingRay would produce the sound you want. Good luck in your search.:D

Me, I'd probably kick my own ass until my legs got sore, then I'd hire someone else to keep going.

But as to what YOU should do, I just don't know.

Have you spoken to an Internet Personality about this problem?

A brave thread indeed resulting in the predictable responses.

If it ain't your sound my friend move on to something else. The Bongo isn't everybody's cup of tea, but hey, you've got Stingrays and Sterlings to try. Not a bad position to be in eh? Of course if you don't like the look of them then you are in trouble.

That's simple...get another bass. What you like is very personal and the sound is the most important thing.

Yo X.......what kind of music are you doing and what is it about the sound that's causing you the acid indigestion? Which Bongo do you have? In other words, what can we Bongo Lovers do to help? It's been my experience that the Bongo can be the smoothest sounding bass on the planet or it's capable of becoming a total chameleon. You CAN win the battle. :^>)
