I mostly do live(improv) looping, so I want something that lends itself to that. Naturally, I'd rather keep it EBMM. So what are your thoughts?

Reflex HSS, its so new, you'd have that new bass smell for longer. Roasted, fretted or not, in that white with black binding, swwwwwwweeeeet.

So make it fretted! I believe the Big Al SSS to offer it's full potential only in the fretted version. You can get some insanely good slap and old school sounds out of that babe. Go fretted BASSS.

Great wood work, the best pickups in the world, 4 band EQ (You already know what this electronics can do on Your Bongo 6, right?), series/parallel switching, active/passive switching, whole new design dimension in the bass world, light weight headstock tuners...etc.

Can't miss with one of reflexes!

My vote also goes with a Big Al in some pick-up configuration. The SSS would be quite different in tone from your collection.

As you're doing improv looping live, maybe a Bongo 6 fretted (roasted neck) - the Reflex 5 would give more sound options, but less note range - difficult choices eh?

A Classic Ray would also be different (sonically and visually - dependent on colour choice) - and might provide enough sound range to do the job also

Yeah, indeed, Classic 5 banger is what I would like to take next year for collection reasons and it really sounds awesome (try to find Ed Friedland's demo on YT)!

Or if You really want something different, take one of Big Al 5 in range!
