you could try this as well for the piezo to mag transition. take the stereo cable and run it into the eb splitter, then take those two cables and run them into an eb volume pan cable( product #6165) and then run the respective cables to their amps. that would allow you to have a perfectly seemless transition, and when you need to switch guitars or take a break you can use the volume pedal part of it and tottally kill the signal to both amps. thats probably how i would do it.

Hey I know you guys mentioned acoustic, bass amps & pa's but how about a keyboard amp? Is there such a thing as just a pa amp? I want to have one amp take care of both magnetic and piezo if thats possible and drive the magnetic part of it with my GNX4. Sorry, this piezo thingy is totally new to me.

francric,

I think someone mentioned a keyboard amp as a good option for the piezo output.

The closest thing to a "PA Amp" would be a plain ol' power amp (like a Crown or QSC). You can run your GNX right into that, and your piezo as well. But you're missing the point of the PA preference.

The real reason for running piezo thru the PA system is that there are generally several speaker types in such a system, and a set of crossovers that channel certain frequency ranges to certain speakers. (i.e. no ultra-low frequencies going to the tweeters, etc.) This and the fact that PA speakers aren't 'tuned' to electric guitar frequency ranges make all the difference. You get to hear a much larger spectrum of sound amplified through the whole system this way.

So, in other words, like everyone has kinda mentioned the pa system is the best. I imagine that I should be able to use the pa system also with my GNX4 and it should sound as good or better than a regluar amp? What's a decent pa system that won't break my bank or should I just get a small acoustic amp to go along with my current amp? Too many choices........ For you guys who gig, you use the pa system at the venue right? So, for practice you just have an extra amp?

I have been using a Crate acoustic amp for practice. I recently bought a Fender PD-250 PA system off of eBay, which I may or may not keep. I was kind of an impulse buy. I'm not sure I really need a PA system and the PD-250 is mainly just for acoustics and vocals.
