New DT track has been available for download the last few days, which is long enough for me to have already fallen in love with it. I love how Rudiculous holds back until after Petrucci lets loose so he can go dognuts and destroy the faces JP left behind [the end of his solo has some whammy pedal sounding action going on, I have no idea what it is, but I like it]

Whats everybody else think?

I think it's pretty cool. The unison parts and JP's solo are kick-arse. I think JP outdid himself on this one.

Rudiculous... ha.. that's a good name. I'm totally digging just the rhythm part. I love JP's tone in the solo, it reminds me of Animate/Inanimate from his solo album. When I heard it i thought the end of the solo was one of those Satch/Dimebag-style whammy harmonics, judging from the way he dives before bringing it up. It'd be easier to do with a whammy pedal but does JP have a history of ever using those? Whatever, awesome song!

Hell yea, I thought Dime immediately when I heard the end of the solo. This is pretty much JP thrash at it's finest.

Hahaha the quote... it's from Family Guy. I don't remember what episode, but it's not like that matters, since all the jokes on Family Guy have no connection to the storyline. All I remember is Brian and Peter were talking and...

Peter: It's like when the Emperor discovered the formula for great Star Wars dialogue.

Palpatine: Something, something, something, dark side; something, something, something, complete.

6:55 of awesome. It reminds me of Panic Attack/Jaws of Life/Battery. The solo actually made my jaw drop. I can't wait to hear ITPoE. That short little snippit in the EPK is amazing.

ONE MONTH TO GO!!!

Yeah, someone leaked it to youtube, but it's gone now. I listened to it once and told myself I wouldn't listen to it again until I have the album in my hands. It was a VERY heavy song, omg. I loved it.

I listened to The Dark Eternal Night today and I was baffled once again as Petrucci just pumps out lick after lick of awesome.

This cd is going to be a neckache.

About TDEN, the short one/two bar solo fragment with the harmonizer reminds me so much of Steve Vai's "Air Guitar Hell" and the earlier portion reminded me of Alex Lifeson. It was great...
