Quick question: do any of you give names to your guitars (a la "Lucille")? If so, How? Why? And, most importantly, What are they?

I've never done this, and my #2 son was surprised that I haven't. Honestly, it never occured to me do it.

No, but I've always wanted to for some reason, and I don't actually know why.

My guitar is named "No not the acoustic one, the electric one. No not that one either, it's the one that changes colors! There ya go..."

My Axis is called 'The Bone'.

Reason is that my wifes nickname for me is 'Dog' and of course you'll find that a Dog is always gnawing away on his favourite bone.

It's funny how things never seem strange or weird until you try to explain them isn't it ?

I've only named one guitar, and it was soooo ugly I named it Latrine based on the character from Robin Hood Men in Tights.

Never have. If someone wants to talk about a certain guitar of mine I'll reference them by color: "The blue one," or "The red one," etc..

Sub1 - Jaymz

Because its rough looking and sounds mean as hell, but sounds pretty too.

Still haven't named the silo, I'm working on that. We are still bonding ;)

After playing my Blue Dawn LE 2007 Lefty Luke for the first time last night, my bandmates are calling it the "Don't spill a drink on this guitar or I'll f*****g kill you." Or, "one scratch and you buy me another one" guitar.

Doesn't have the same ring as "Lucille" ,but very effective. :p

Easy for me.
It's just called Dargie.
Even my 3 year old calls it that. :)

I name them because I'm a lame-ass! Seriously, I name them and seriously, I'm a lame-ass.

You want to know the names? Maybe later. :D

My Dargie is sometimes referred to as D.D. (Highly unoriginal I know)

Ok I'll divulge this one, I call it "Double D"....

I love double meanings :D

Really Lame!!!

I have names for all of my guitars: Paige, Schmutz, Project X2N, Nina, and am still trying to think of a name for my new JP (this is my first post on this Forum). I just got it yesterday and am out words to describe it. Simply put, I absolutely love this guitar! How's that for lame?!
