About 4 years ago I traded my Axis for a gibson SG, ....worst choise i've ever made, the guitar was appealing on the outside, but I was plauged by various problems thoughout my time with that guitar, plus it didnt play half as good as the axis. basically if your a guitar PLAYER atleast concider the axis, If your more of a collector, or just wanna have a cool guitar.......well axis wins that one too as far as im concerned lol.. if you want a nice looking guitar that has no individuallity and dosnt play that great...and with a massive and unnessesary price tag THE LP IS FOR U! :D

Ok, here is my personal Axis Story. :)

First time I saw an Axis was about 12 years ago: An EVH MM. Since there I allways wanted this to buy this guitar, but never had enough money. ;-)

Now 12 years later and three days ago my brand new MM Axis arrived. :D

It was really hard to find one in a shop in Germany until I meet a friendly guy in a guitarshop at Berlin. He's also a EVH and MM-Freak. So I got the chance to play his own Axis on the 5150 Peavy. It's awesome!!!! So, I orderd a trans gold one directly!!! :D :D :D
About playability, features, quality etc. erverything was just mentioned here. The Guitarsetup was made just perfect by MM. It's a dream to play with it!!! Last two evenings I couldn't stop playing until 3 oclock in the morning. Just can't stop!!!

I've never played a guitar like this before. When I look back, I could not imagine playing an other guitar.

Wow - sounds like a dream come true! My first EB is a transluscent turquoise Axis with the coolest birds eye maple. A couple of years later, I went into the Guitar Center during one of their 'Green Tag' sales and the crowd of people ahead of me in line walked RIGHT BY a burnt apple red finished Axis priced brand new at $499! I snatched that one in a heartbeat! I've since kept the red one stock and modded the blue one with different pickups. I'm now awaiting my all-white silhouette special, with HSS + matched headstock! I can't wait to plug them into my rockin' amps!

About the Porche statement - you gotta admit though, playing a clearly superior brand does up the ante a little... I mean don't you feel a wonderful sense of pride playing your Ernie Ball?

I have 2 LP's and am dying to get an Axis (super sport).

i dig LP's ... but ya some are good and some just suck. all SGs ive ever played have been horrible. SG is the only guitar ive ever sold. i couldnt stand it.

but ya ... its always fine and dandy to read stuff about guitars but when it comes down to deciding what to buy its all about your hands and ears ... leave your eyes at home and go to a music store and put an Axis up against an LP and a PRS or whatever ... you'll go home with the right axe

I'll try and not be an Ernie Ball fan boy on this one but, choose whatever feels right for you, you'll know it when you pick it up, whether is looks nice or not, if it plays right for you, get it or you will be dissapointed.

Bit it will prob be an Axis anyways ;)

Whether you like it or not, when you play one you'll think to yourself, "That feels different."
