Shipping a Bongo in a G&G case to Ga. Don't have the original shipping carton. Was gonna bug my LMS to see if I can find a carton that fits. If I can't, what is the next best way to package the case?

If you don't find a guitar box to ship with, go to your local bike shop and ask for one of their bike shipping boxes; ask for one for an adult bike sized between 16-18". You'll have to customize a little bit, but they're sturdy!

when i sent my Sterling in for warranty they didnt have any big boxes at the fedex store so i just taped the hell out of a bunch of boxes. LoL. Jon said it got to SLO all fine and the makeshift box held up great.

ask your drummer, duct tape is your friend. LoL

No, no. You're Travis.

Got a box reserved at my LMS. Picked up $0.50 worth of packing materials (1 newspaper). May have to go back to my local packing store for more (Circle K). Measurements are close but will still have to do some surgery. Should have it to the UPS store by tomorrow.

This bass needs some new lovin' 'cuz I been neglecting it. She's been sittin' in her case all alone :(

I think Travis is just the one up for the task. :D

Safest way is to unbolt the neck and ship it in two pieces. A body and a neck by themselves are far less fragile than a fully assembled instrument.

This is funny...the circle of relativity among the Forumites just got a little smaller...

...Maddog's Bongo HS is being shipped to ebmuscmanlvr83, who is then selling me the White Ice PG to be installed on my new Bongo HS...

...pretty cool...and............I'm reaching on this one!:D

Oooh! You just got Travis in trouble!

It's rolls burgundy. If you're not going with white you ruin the whole Prince motif. :p

Joking, only joking. :D

Thought it was a good setup for a Prince reference. My sense of humour is odd at times.

I think the bongo is a little too normal for Prince.

Perhaps if it was a tad more phallic looking he'd want a custom made bright purple Bongo.

Hey Travis,

What color you gonna try on the Bongo? Just curious. Would love to see pictures just to see if another color works with that rolls burgundy.

Tort, of course. Mine came with black pearloid, but I couldn't wait to tort that sucker.

Tom,

My birthday is tuesday. I was gonna get a pickguard of a different color to try out. When I told my lil sis about getting a new Bongo, and my interest in another pickguard, she gave me $50 and said, Happy B-Day, get a pickguard or two. So I PMed Jack. He put in the mail for me, a white pearloid and an abalone.
