I've been on this forum for a few months now and I need someone out there to explain to me all the Peavey bashing that I commonly see here.

I'm not going to defend or bash them, I just want to know what the deal is.

I don't really get it either. I'm sure there are people on Peavey forums
that feel the need to bash Music Man guitars too. I guess when people get tired of bashing Benji (for not being a shredder), they turn to Peavey.

I'm guessing you're a younger member of the forum :D

I believe it would have something to do with one time EBMM endorser EVH.

With all due respect, based on what I've seen here, it is a topic probably better researched at Van Halen Links.com - Powered by vBulletin - try doing a search in the "guitar room" section.

From the forum rules:
"This forum is for people who want to discuss Ernie Ball Music Man guitars, and those things relating to EB/MM guitars, gear and artists... Sure topics will wander afield, all well and good, but this is not the place to publicy bash products from another company"
That's all I'm saying.

Yeah, try Harmony Central or the Gear Page, pretty much anything goes these days in terms of gear/people/band bashing.

Actually, I'm 33 years old and I remember when Mr. EVH endorsed EBMM. I also remember trying out one of the EVH model guitars when a shop in my home town became a dealer. It was nice, just out of my price range back then.

Thanks for the link.

Peavey has some nice stuff....their JSX is simply awesome....I got to play one the other day....all I can say is...WOW.

Their guitars just did not do it for me. The Wolfgang is almost a carbon copy of the Axis....but the feel and tone was not there for me.

Big Poppa likes variety. I do as well. I like a variety of EBMM's....;)

Just never thought Peavey put out a great guitar. My opinion and mine alone. Not bashing, just basing on my experience with the brand.

I didn't want to start a whole thread on bashing any brand of equipment or any artist. I just want to know if there were any real reasons why folks bash Peavey other than personal preference.

Anytime. Seriously, Big Poppa likes the competition and won't bash them. It keeps them motivated (but not the only reason...) to make wonderful tools for us to use to express our music. I do as well. It is hard for me to find a guitar that "feels" right to me. EBMM is the only brand of guitar/bass that has that "feel" and that is why I use them. I love the JP, Axis and ALS. The Bongos and the Sting Ray are wonderful as well. I have played/bought many other brands....they just did not make me feel comfortable. I can't put my EB's down.....and they sound great to boot! :D

Hey no problems, hope it's useful! I remember when EVH and EBMM parted company I emailed EBMM customer service and asked if they'd now be selling off their remaining EVH models (I was a lot younger then!). They said they'd never had a surplus of the guitar as there had always been too much demand (kind of like today - I see Musician's Friend and Music123 seem to always have the Axis on backorder).

I did buy a Peavey Wolfgang a few years later but never really got into it that much, I sold it off after owning it for 2 years.

(BTW - Hope this post doesn't infringe on forum rules.)

It's all good! I deleted that thread in case it came off weird. It didn't mean to.

Back to guitars. Long live the Axis!

Wow there is no peavey bashing here ...I have stated that hartley Peavey has dissappointed me and not with EVH..(Although I did hook up the 5150 amp deeal for him with a ribbon...maybe some day geta box of chocolates)

I think that if you ask me is they are the best choice in most catedgories I would say there are much better alternatives.

If you are responding to the peavey free thread I think he is just excited to get some more of our stuff...
