That might be the Piezo version of the Y2D that EBMM made for Steve to try out and see if he liked.

? for anyone at EBMM, did Steve like it?

Interesting...

If it is the piezo, what songs does he use it on? Maybe the beggining of "Sometimes I Feel Like Screaming"? (God I love that song   )

Impressive... most impressive...

There were several prototypes that some what mimicked the setup and switching configuration of the original Morse. From what I understand, it was decided that the switch was to be removed from the production version. There are some pictures floating around of this particular guitar ( I believe) that has this switch removed and a black plug in its place.

Here is a clean picture of one with the switch from the original press announcement back in Jan 05.

Another press release with the production pictures.

Anyone have the link to the BP / Morse video on its development. I think I remember them talking about this switch there?

Siggy's right on the money. That was before Steve was happy with the 5 way switch on it's own. Guess they had to wean him off the old switching config :D

While we're at the Y2D, is the Purple Sunset finish avalable with the cream pickup covers?

Those cream coloured pickups would have looked great.
They originally started as creamy but when Steve and Sterling got done with them, the pusms were purple. That's what makes them master-weeners.
