Im planning on buying the basic j6 petrucci this new year. Ive found that there are identical guitars but with different bridges, one (maybe older model) where the bridge pivot post is directly behind the high e saddle. And another where the bridge is a total rectangle. Was this an upgrade due to a design flaw or just part of the guitars evolution? Thanks. This is my first post😎

On extreme dive bombs the high-e saddle would touch the post. JP wanted the post moved across, hence the new design bridge. Nobody ever complained before the change so don't think of it as a design flaw. The old design is still used on the Lukes, Axis, Silhouette, Silhouette Special, and Albert Lee guitars. The new design is used on the JPs, Cutlass, Stingray, and St Vincent guitars.
