No new insight to add, just thought that I'd chime in and say that the guitar I'd really really like to partner my Purple Axis would be a trans Black hardtail Axis. Although a natural, trans red, or Purple would also work !
I love my Purple Axis but it's be nice to have another one with a Hardtail so that I could use that for the songs with the big, big blues bends.
At the moment I'm doing them on No1 but I've had to wind the spring tension on the trem up so much to stop it moving when I'm bending that I'm really having to bear down on the trem to get it to move !
Ah well, I'll keep an eye out.:D

Ooh la la.

I am so happy that I started this thread. I am falling in love with this Axis hardtail idea. I think an Axis hardtail in the rosewood option would probably be one of the nicest ones possible. Something about that rosewood... and all the quilted tops I've seen on Axii. Wow, they're just all so hot!

By the way, there's three EVH guitars on http://www.gbase.com for sale right now.

one of the forum members here, spkirby had a trans gold Axis hardtail up for sale last year in the UK and for not a lot of money if i remember correctly.I dithered for about a month(or two) and Starsky bought it.I still kick myself about that one

that guitar and a trans pinkburst odd shaped thing offered briefly up for sale by a poster 2 posts up are the two that hurt the most:(

still, I got an ASS hardtail with rosewood board and I like it

My Axis hardtail is my favorite guitar - it almost wants to play itself, I just guide it along.....

The Axis hardtails rule!!!!!! As far as colours go, I have seen them in Red, Honeyburst, Purple and amber. If I ever seen one in any other colour, I will buy it on the spot! My Honeyburst Axis has a Rosewood board, and I once saw a Red one with a r/w board too. They do have special mojo! They are my signature model!
