Seems like there hasn't been much talk about the stallion and money is burning a hole right through my pocket!

Id hate to make a purchase on something and then learn its to be released within days. With my luck this would happen.

Also, John Petrucci signature picks have been released I believe. Have not found them in stores yet and was wondering if anyone had an opinion on them.

Thanks,

D

Hey Devin! How you been?
Where'd you see pics? I'm guessing by next year if things work out. Just a guess though.

My Stallion money went to a PDN Axis. :D
I think you guys are referring to the Petrucci picks as in plectrums? If so, there's a seller on E-Bay who has them. Strange that they're not in stores yet. If you meant pics as in pictures, sorry.

Nope, you were absolutely right. I meant to type picks not pics. I've been on Instagram far too much today.

I'm decent. Yourself? I feel I've "leveled up" on guitar recently. The best feeling there is. In my opinion.

I was just thinking... Does anyone know the release dates on the "X" model of guitars? It seems as if they have a refresh rate of 12 months now give or take. Johns signature model has become the iPhone of guitars in the EBMM industry. Not hating on that at all! Just making an observation. I don't mind filling the pockets of BP or JP. Take my money! All of it!

I actually just ordered some of the JP picks from that eBay seller yesterday. I figured I have two of his guitars, a Mark V (too bad they don't have a JP signature model of these, how cool would that be!), and the DreamScape pedal, I might as well have some of his picks, and since I use Jazz III MaxGrips anyways....

It goes without saying that I too am anxiously awaiting the reveal of the Stallion (insert Tony Danza joke). I hope it retains the 20" fretboard radius and the symmetric neck profile, while introducing figured tops and cool switching options (a la marrying the JPXI, BFR, and Game Changer designs). I gotsta get me some more 20" radius JP's!

I am wondering if there will be a JP13 or the Stallion will the considered the "anniversary" model for 2013.

It will have the 20" radius still. I don't think that's going anywhere. That's what JP told me about it....a year ago.

If I had the hazard of guess, I would think the Stallion would be in a class of its own. We have the Original JPs (6 string and 7 string) then came the BFR models with the quilted tops, then we had the JPX model which is still a BFR model with the opaque finish. Every model released after that was a BFR with an opaque finish and their names directly correspond with how many years John has been a signature artist. I believe production on these opaque finishes (discarding the mystic dream finish) are more cost effective than the quilted tops. Giving EBMM the opportunity to introduce newer instruments at a significantly lower price point.

The stallion is going to have to bring something new to the table with the JP line. My thought is possibly a thru body design with no floating trem. Something this significant would justify a purchase of a new JP model to a lot of people. They may continue producing JP models but looking at the last two (11 and 12) they didn't really change all that much other then what woods were used and finish color. If there was a JP 13 introduced I would assume they would possibly experiment with new wood combinations and of course introduce a new color. Perhaps the 13 would have color options? Who knows. Everything is purely speculation at this point.
