remember--20th Ann. Silo=secret mahogany tone block!!!!!!!!
can someone explain what a tone block is?
does it mean the center part of the body is made of mahogany and two sides are made of alder? so it's like a alder/mahog/alder three piece laminated body?

I do know the tone block is in the middle...what the rest consists of I can't recall. The 20th is one sweet axe....I had a ball playing it.

I didn't pay extra for the upgrade top. Therefore I will be content regardless of how plain the top will be on my 20th. I do have my fingers crossed though.

But I just can help my self from thinking how beautiful the top is on yours Paul, especially compare to this one on ebay. The photograph is bad, but even when you compare to the other 20th this seller has for sale on ebay, it's rather plain.

Grand Central Music's ebay listing: There photographs are always terrible looking!
Very muddy. I think they take their pictures through a swamp!?

I cant wait to get mine as well. I however did get an upgrade quilt top, and also a trem. For some reaso almost all the pics so far of this beautiful guitar have no trems. Hearin BP and Jon say that this is the best guitar they've made so far, makes me really happy that I ordered one. I was actually about to forget about it, because of money and all kinds of crap, but I just knew I HAD to have this special one :D.
Here is a link to another one on the Bay that looks sweeet!!! I also like that natty headstock on this particular guitar for some reason, even tho I always get a matching head.

I have a light Mahog Ibanez that sounds AWSOME... it's the S series, so that's why it's light, but sounds KILLER!! Look AWSOME with the Flamed Bubbinga too! Ibanez doesn't make guitars with this quality anymore, it's SOUNDS AWSOME.. I love mahog.... I agree though, the Mahog wolfs just didn't sound good at all.

I'd LOVE to see a mahog production guitar.

Mahogany can sound great, but it just seems like it is very hit and miss sometimes.
Most likely its due to the inconsistent quality of the mahogany getting imported these days.
Its amazing what some outfits call / sell as mahogany.

I would imagine that having to deal with inconsistent raw material like that would be a nightmare for BP and the crew.

Mahogany (and a set neck) is why I own my two PRS's - a Standard 24 and an SE Soapbar Singlecut. Both are light (and I mean very light - less than 7.2 lb.!) and both play like buttah! Of course, I'd prefer a natural oil & wax finished neck, but beggars can't be choosers, and I guess that given what's out there these two are worth keeping...

My only other non-EBMM guitar has a Mahogany center block - it's an Edwards ES-335-alike from their "Lacquer Taste" series of G!&$0n copies... probably built better than half the 335s I've played and cost a lot less! It's just a place holder until Dudley and BP get together and do something really radical in semi-hollow design! ;)

What about the Sitrucci BP? Got a chance to fool around with it a bit (or keep one)?

Did it sound as good as the 20th Silo?

I do hope so cuz I loved the 20th silo's looks and quite a few people say it's the best sounding EB... but I'm a JP kinda guy... If the Sitrucci ever makes it to the public I'll be in trouble.
