I think OLP is an inexpensive way of getting a cool looking bass, whereas a Sub is an inexpensive way of getting a real Musicman.

And a piece of advice on amps: Spend money on a good bass first, buy a good amp later. Don't ever make the mistake of trying to make a cheap bass sound good by getting a great amp, because it will cost you a lot of money and you will never ever get it to sound "right". I *think* you americans call it paying through your nose?

That is the truth, I had no idea that playing a real Musicman would affect my sound and playing so much! I can honestly say that I'm a better player w/ my ErnieBall!

el bajo....Welcome to the Addiction!

If you are considering a MusicMan bass....get with bovinehost, Steve Dude Barr, bassplayr or Pete Dubaldo here on the forum....they are dealers and will give you some excellent service....I as well as many others know that to be a fact.

If you can't afford an EB get the OLP. Just don't forget this place when you got a need for a bass that lasts you a lifetime. Playing is something that is important. Lots of basses can be played. Play all you can for a lifetime. Play the best you can get when you can.

IMHO

I can tell you that I had to file the sides of the frets down on my OLP when I got it to keep it from tearing up my hands. Something you'ld never have to do on a MusicMan product.
I had to do the same to my mates OLP Axis - it's fine now.
